Well done Graham from all of your students.

This was awarded for his dedication to the association for the past two years and all his hard work running Norfolk Wadoryu karate club.
Graham has been doing karate for the past  20 years and running his club for the past 15 years, and has always worked very hard to keep a very high standard of training and discipline within the club, as well as all the day to day running of the club for its weekly training sessions, he also organises trips to competitions and regularly attends training courses all over the country to keep up his high level of karate so that he can then pass it on to his students.

Lowestoft Training Course .

The course started promptly at 1.00pm with a warm up session conducted by Sensei Keenan after 20 or so minutes of intense warm up Sensei Bergin instructed us on various locks and takedowns which are part of what sets Wadoryu aside from other styles of karate.
After a short break Sensei Ridgeway took us through Jitte kata followed by the bunkai for each of the moves.

Dean & Craig Attain 1st Dan.

On the 7th September 2007 in a far off land in a distant part of the galaxy, ok well Pontesbury! Dean, Craig and other budding Black belts attended the annual summer course and Dan grading. The course was taken by Sensei Derek Ridgeway 7th Dan and Sensei Dave Wilkins 6th Dan. The day started with Sensei Wilkins instructing on how to warm up and prepare your body for karate training. Next Sensei Ridgway explained  kata Koshiki Nihanchin and its bunki .The afternoon sessions began with   Sensei Wilkins explaining the Kions. The last session was taken by Sensei Ridgway who explained continuous bunkai for Pinan Yondan.

Having already complete a hard days training the time came for those going for their Dan grades to step up. After a further gruelling two hours of basics : renraku wasa , ohyo and ippon gumite, juyu kumite and randori kumite came the news they had hoped for they had passed.
