Autobiography Sensei Dudley (Duke) Beckles 3rd Dan.
I was Introduced to Shotokan Karate by Sensei Durant,
at the time 1st kyu, training was under the late Sensei Prior while serving
in the RAF in Scotland. The club joined the FSKI and Sensei Dickson became
Chief Instructor to the club and gave me a great understanding of Karate
with his extensive knowledge to gain Shodan with his guidance in 1995
with the FSKI.
In 1994 I moved to Norfolk with the RAF and join the Norfolk Wadoryu Karate
Club with their guidance I gained Shodan in Wadoryu in 1995. Under the
instruction from Sensei Durant and Sensei Murphy I achieved Nidan in 1997
once again with the FSKI.
While in the RAF I became a part of the RAF Karate team, where I enjoyed
various types of training from various styles, and had some success in
completions, mainly kumite.
In 2001 was awarded Sandan by Dave Sharkey of the EKO.
